York foodbank
York Foodbank is part of the Trussell network of foodbanks across the UK. The Belfrey partners with York Foodbank as a Foodbank Distribution Point on Saturday mornings from our basement lounge in the De Grey Rooms.
We have a collection point at the bottom of the main stairs, which is emptied each week by the Foodbank team.
Helena Mellows is our Foodbank Coordinator and if you’d like to know more or are interested in becoming a volunteer at the Saturday sessions, please contact her at helena.mellows@belfrey.org
To give through prayer
Pray that the York Foodbank will continue to receive the support needed through donations and volunteers to be able to keep on alleviating hardship and hunger arising from the pandemic and economic adversity.
To give financially
As well as donating food and other basic household provisions, you could help by making a financial donation.
Alternatively you or your Belfrey Group may also want to consider holding a fundraiser.
To give your time and skills
York Foodbank is a Christian charity that partners with local churches to give emergency food to people in need. They have several volunteer roles, so please have a look at their website for more information, or if you’d like to help on a Saturday morning, please contact Helena Mellows (see email above).
