As part of Impact’s Sustainability strategy and mindful of the significant memories and connections that people have with The Belfrey, it was important that the pews, gallery and narthex screen within the church building were carefully removed and the wood repurposed sensitively. Some of the pews can be adjusted to provide smaller seats that people can have in their houses, some of the wood can be crafted into pieces of furniture and accessories while other pieces will be commercially reused in other settings.
For more information on how the wood was reclaimed please go to the Impact page and the latest news update.
Furniture can now be ordered directly from Stewart Long Interiors, a family business based in Lincolnshire which has significant experience and skill in using reclaimed wood to create beautiful pieces of furniture which you can treasure for years to come.
Some of the standard items of furniture that have been created are shown in the photographs but you can also order a bespoke piece.
To place an order or to discuss a particular requirement please contact Stewart Long:

Visit stewartlonginteriors.co.uk to see their craftsmanship and the range of products they can produce.
Prices for the standard items that have been for sale such as a pew will remain the same with half of the proceeds going to Stewart Long and the remaining half towards the Impact fundraising campaign.
Smaller items can still be purchased directly from The Belfrey. A bench/shoe rack costs £100, chopping board £40 and a holding cross £10. Patterned floor tiles can also be purchased in their original state (ie not cleaned up) with prices ranging from £5 to £20 depending upon their size and condition.
Items can be purchased on the second Sunday of each month, by coming into the De Grey Rooms Monday to Thursday from 9.30am to 4pm or by ringing 01904 624190.
