Joseph Trust is a Christian charity who  provide alternative education to children in York schools between the ages of 8 and 14 years.

Joseph Trust helps vulnerable children with emotional and behavioural difficulties who find mainstream school challenging to enjoy a wide range of activity based educational opportunities in a rural setting including for example outdoor games, working with animals and plants and woodworking. The support enriches the educational opportunities for these children whilst teaching them valuable coping skills and enabling them to maintain their places within their mainstream schools.

To give through prayer:

Joseph Trust ask for your prayers for the following:

  2. For the supporters of Joseph Trust to grow and for the young students from York to be supported by the communities in which they live.

  3. Joseph Trust need to secure their long term future by purchasing the site where they are based. Please pray for the funding of £60k needed for the land and essential buildings improvement. Please also pray for agreement on some of the anticipated legal issues around shared access routes and facilities.

To Give Your Time and Skills:

Joseph Trust are looking for volunteers who can work alongside their staff to support the young students. Ideally you will be able to commit to a set day (between about 9am and 3pm) each week (or fortnightly). Volunteers will enjoy a lively atmosphere and offer a supportive relationship and positive reinforcement to the young students. You will enjoy watching the students learn and grow as people. Volunteers will have the opportunity to get involved in the full range of activities, including outdoor games, forest school, apple pressing, canoeing, wood working, bike repair, looking after animals and growing plants.

Also:

If you have experience of teaching or a particular skill that you could share, Joseph Trust would love to hear from you. It may be that you could offer shorter one off workshops.

Volunteers are encouraged to visit and find out more before making a commitment.
