Welcome to The Belfrey. Whether you are a fresher or a returning student, we would love to get to know you and do all we can to help you in your walk with God while you are here at uni.

The Belfrey is home to many students from both universities. We long to see you grow in your faith, so that you go on to the rest of your life determined to live for Jesus.

We want to be a community of students who provide support for one another, who build lasting friendships, and - above all - who learn to live our lives for the glory of God. Whether you're looking for a church in York, or curious to know more about what we do, we'd be really pleased to meet you, so do get in touch.

The heart of the student work at The Belfrey is EQUIP, our weekly student night on a Monday. We also run an annual student weekend away, termly girls/guys days, and a good deal of social stuff, as well as encouraging you to get involved with Besom projects, serving the needy in York. On top of that, we encourage you to be in a one-to-one discipleship relationship with an older Christian (see 'Grounded').

We have multiple congregations at The Belfrey. The main one to note is The Seven. Most of our students find their home here - it 's a contemporary service with extended worship and in-depth preaching.

Getting involved in the life of the church is a great way to explore and develop your gifts and grow in your faith. There’s a whole lot going on at The Belfrey, so we hope you won't get stuck in a student bubble - whatever your gifts, there should be a place to use and extend them.
