World Mission
Whilst serving God's Transformation of the North is becoming our primary mission focus, we also support a number of key Mission Partners bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. This is co-ordinated by the World Mission Steering Group, who support our Mission Partners, bring information to the church about them, and encourage world mission activities by individuals and groups within the church.
Mission Updates in Congregations
Our Mission Partners are supported by the whole church although they are each linked with two or three congregations for communication and prayer. Mission Updates are regularly brought to the congregations for prayer and if present, the Mission Partner is interviewed.
Prayer - The Mission Prayer Meeting is every second Tuesday in the month at different venues.
News for Prayer - This newsletter is produced monthly with up-to-date information for prayer.
Hot News - Is produced at regular intervals with mission news for the whole church.
Belfrey Groups - Groups are encouraged to ‘adopt' a Mission Partner.
Our long-term Mission Partners are:
- Catherine Djimramadji with Wycliffe Bible Translators in North England
- Tim and Susie Eves with SIL in SE Asia
- Judy Homer with World Horizons in Llanelli South Wales
- Kevin and Sue Jarrett with Wycliffe Bible Translators and Mission Assist
- Bill and Irene Manley with Mary and Martha Mongolia
- John and Kate Marsden with Food for the Hungry (FH) in Bangladesh
- Dave Burton with Food for the Hungry (FH) in Bangladesh
- Andy and Rose Roberts with South American Mission Society (SAMS) in Brazil
- Anna Tash working with Operation Mobilisation in Belgium
In addition to our long-term partner support, The Belfrey also offers the opportunity for church members to participate in short-term visit opportunites overseas. If you are interested in long/short term mission or want to be involved in teams going from the church please contact the World Mission Steering Group. We may not be able to support you financially but we can give you ideas on th next step, raising funds and prayer support.

We've pulled together some resources for the More Than Gold mission week. There are some training videos by One Voice York, a short series on apologetics from Jim Roberts and if you're really stuck for ideas, we've got some of those as well.James Fletcher

The Music and Worship team would love to serve your Belfrey Group's More Than Gold outreach event. For example, if you're putting on a dinner party might like to have some live classical music to enhance the atmosphere, or if you're hosting a barbecue you might want a few songs from a guitarist to complete the event. 24-7 Prayer: this week
This is a week of 24-7 Prayer in the Parish Centre from Friday 18 to Thursday 24 May in preparation for More Than Gold. Please sign up to pray for the mission and our city - whoever you are, whatever your age, and however easy you find it to pray.
