The 7

The 7 meets at - yes, you've guessed it - 7pm each Sunday in St Michael le Belfrey church, with a cafe running beforehand from 6.40pm. We are a vibrant congregation made up of people of all ages, including a large student contingent. Each time we meet, our desire is to worship God with our whole hearts and to be transformed by his Word and his presence amongst us. Our sung worship is contemporary and band-led but we seek to look beyond the style to the one it's all about.

Here are a few of the core beliefs that shape our worship at 7:

Freedom of structure: we believe that our services should be creative and free-flowing, such that we are open to the leading of the Spirit, to respond to what God may be saying to us any given week, and to encourage genuine participation of the whole congregation in worship.

Deep, engaging teaching: we acknowledge that all of us, whatever age, crave substantial, creative and applied preaching of God's Word that will challenge us and change our lives.

Deep worship: we believe it is right to seek genuine encounters with God that will deeply affect our real lives, such that we respond with our whole selves. We want to sing songs we love and that will build us up; we want to pray, listen and receive together; we want to share our experience of real life with God.

Real community: in the midst of a large congregation, we hope that all our members will feel interconnected, and will build strong, supportive friendships with one another.
