24-7 Prayer has now begun, and you can still sign up for slots.

If you have signed up and at any point have a problem getting into the building, or you need to leave when there is no one else there to replace you, please ring 07885 240901.

The week culminates in our next Evening of Prayer on Thursday 24 May, 7.30pm, when we'll be praying for the More than Gold mission throughout the city. We encourage you to come and pray with the whole church family, and to consider fasting during that Thursday up until the prayer gathering.

Free Concert

Friday 25 May, 7.00pm, in St Michael's. Come along to hear an excellent choir from the USA in a free concert. The Luther College Nordic Choir from Decorah, Iowa, will be presenting an evening of wide ranging music, conducted by Dr Allen Hightower.

Restore News

Restore (York) is housing and supporting 13 people who used to be homeless in three houses. We have just agreed to lease a fourth house as the Charity aims to expand to six houses by the end of the year. This work is demanding and challenging for everyone involved. The support worker, board members, treasurer, project manager and volunteers all need to be upheld in prayer.

From June 11th- 17th I am dressing in a full-on elephant suit for 90 waking hours. That’s a week of being an elephant. Imagine that. Will you sponsor me to see this happen, here?

Protecting Innocence on Line

Last week Claire Perry MP published the findings of a report taken from an Independent Parliamentary Inquiry into Online Child Protection. The report made a number of recommendations, including calling on Internet Service Providers to adopt the ‘opt‐in’ model so that adults aged 18 or over would need to verify their age to access pornography. This is indeed an answer to prayer ‐ however the ISPs are reluctant to adopt this measure and more needs to be done to ensure the Government applies sufficient pressure on ISPs to change.

On Thursday 31st May from 10.30am - 3.30pm Woodthorpe Belfrey Group and friends are putting on a day of activities in the Belfrey Hall with a Jubilee Theme (red, white and blue). There will be opportunities to try out card making, flower arranging, painting, knitting squares and decorating plant pots or stones. There will also be a cafe with tea, coffee and cakes.
