The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is the body of people in St Michael's responsible for the management of the church with the Vicar and Churchwardens.

The PCC is elected by those who are on the electoral roll of the church at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting in April. The PCC meets monthly on the 3rd Monday of the month.

The PCC has 24 members. Not all members attend all meetings. The pattern of those who attend the meetings is as follows: three clergy, four Churchwardens, one Deanery Synod Rep, six elected members and the non-voting Secretary. The other clergy and Deanery Synod members attend on a rota basis.

Everyone on the PCC takes a signifcant leadership role in different areas of the life of the church and is responsible for representing this ministry at the PCC.

Churchwardens
The Churchwardens (St Michael's unusually has four), are the Bishop's Officers in St Michael le Belfrey and are the senior Lay (non Clergy) people. They are responsible with the Vicar for the smooth running of the church, for order in our services and for the land and property owned by the church. They are all members of the PCC and are elected annually at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting in April. Churchwardens are allowed to serve for a maximum of six terms consecutively before they must retire for at least a year before being re-elected.

PCC Update
The Parochial Church Council met on 23 April. Matthew Porter reminded members of the PCC of their role. PCC officers were elected to serve for the next year. There were HR updates (the post of Head of Youth and Children's Work had not been filled and was being re-advertised and the post of Alpha Volunteers' Manager would be interviewed for On 28 April). The PCC received a finance report showing that income and expenditure were both under budget. There was some concern in a shortfall in giving through the plate on Sundays. There was a review of people who act as PCC links - the list of these had been updated and is avaiable below. There was a review of Refresh, Easter services and Celebrating the Life. The full list of Spurriergate Trustees was approved by the PCC. The next meeting will be held on 21 May.
